"It's a hard Knock Life"- Jay-Z
Jay-Z is definitely one of the pioneers of hiphop music, this song was a good example of when sampling goes perfectly right! (original song "hard knock life" was used in the broadway stage play "Annie")

"Stan"- Eminiem

"Stan", in my opinion, will forever be one of the greatest hiphop songs in the history of the hiphop genre. This song is a gritty representation of how a fan can sometimes cross the line between fanatic and psychotic.

"Unchained Melody"- The Righteous Brothers

If the title of this song sounds unfamiliar to you than the picture above should give your memory a nice jolt! This melodic masterpiece was one of "The Righteous Brothers" greatest hits in the late 1950's and was brought back into the minds and hearts of its fans in this iconic scene from the 1990 film "Ghost"

"I wanna hold your hand"- The Beatles

Simple, upbeat, and less than 3 minutes long, the Beatles 1963 song was not considered a mega hit when it was released, but if you listen to the lyrics it is easy to see how this song, with all its simplicity can grow on you like hair.

"Survivor"- Destiny's Child
Facing scrutiny for the loss of 2 former members under less than graceful parting, Destiny's child showed the world that coming out on top with perserverance always looks good. "God Only Knows"- The beach boys
I am only 25 years old, was not born, and barely thought of when this song was recorded but it is MY FAVORITE SONG EVER. The Beach Boys' sound of music is so soothing and comforting, that even though I have no clue what the lyrics mean I love the sound Carl and Brian Wilson created with this one!

"Dancing in September"- Earth, Wind & F...
Earth, Wind & Fire has so many wonderful songs that it is virtually impossible to leave them off of a list like this one. This song hit close to home for me, because in my family there is not 1 family gathering, barbeque, wedding, hell even funeral repast that this song isnt played.

"I'm actual"- The Format (now known as...

Time to shake things up a bit and give you my favorite song of all time (I said that about "god only knows" but so what!) by former "Indie Rock" group The Format. Nate Ruess is a lyrical, vocal, and all around musical genius. If you've never listened this song, or this Group for that matter give them a try. You will not be disappointed in the least.
