Naked Mole Rat

The naked mole rate is a hairless, half-blind rodent native to Ethiopia. It's uniquely adapted to living in harsh subterranean conditions: the mole rat has a very low metabolic rate, unusually high blood oxygen affinity, and large front teeth used for digging. Mole rats live together in colonies of up to 100 and unlike other mammals, are largely unable to self-regulate body temperature.
