Hamadryas Baboon

This baboon species is native to North Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen. It prefers semi-arid climate and rocky areas, taking advantage of cliff edges for shelter. Hamadryas baboons are omnivorous and diurnal. Baboons live in strict, multi-tiered, hierarchical societies, with bands often composed of up to 200 members. Males are fiercely aggressive, often fighting for mating rights.
