Platypus

Sure evidence that nature has a sense of humor. The platypus, native to Australia, is one of the oddest creatures on the planet. Part duck, part beaver, part otter, it has webbed feet, a bill, a broad flat tail, lethally poisonous craws, and it lays eggs! So disparate are these features, for a long time naturalists thought it was a hoax.
